Woodland Park, CO ― Brim Healthcare, the Brentwood, Tennessee-based national
hospital management firm retained by the Pikes Peak Regional Hospital Authority to
oversee the construction and development of the new hospital being built in Woodland
Park, Colorado, announced the recent selection of Janet Montel as the hospital’s chief
financial officer (CFO).

Montel, formerly of Fort Morgan, Colorado, is an experienced healthcare financial
executive with extensive background in a hospital-based setting. She was awarded a
Bachelor of Science/Consumer Economics degree from Colorado State University in Fort
Collins, and she then earned an Executive MBA from the University of Colorado in
Denver. She is an advanced member of the Hospital Financial Management Institution,
and has been nominated for membership in the American College of Healthcare
Executives.

Montel worked for nearly 30 years in fiscal services at Colorado Plains Medical Center in
Fort Morgan. In 1986, she was named CFO of the medical center and was instrumental in
helping to transition the facility into a profitable and growing organization. In that
capacity, Montel had direct lines of responsibility for all fiscal services including payroll,
accounts payable, budgeting and more plus billing/collections, medical records/ managed
care contracting, medical staff credentialing, and other key operational aspects of the
organization.

Most recently, Montel had served as the interim business office manager for the Brim-
managed Klickitat Valley Health Services in Goldendale, Washington, where she
successfully reduced unbilled hospital charges from $1.5 million to less than $500,000 in
a very short time period. She is also serving as a patient financial services consultant for a
number of other Brim-managed facilities.
